The historic Christian faith.

We're anchored in the historic Christian faith. Here's a plain-language overview of what we believe.

Hope is gospel-centered.

The gospel, which is the good news of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection on our behalf, is the center of all that we do. It's the reason we gather every Sunday, open our homes every week, and care about Columbus in tangible ways.

Hope is also Presbyterian.

Being "presbyterian" means we are elder-led and connected to other churches. We are a part of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC). The word "evangelical" has taken on a life of its own as it relates to politics and culture wars. But historically this word comes from "evangel" (which means gospel, or "good news"). All our elders and deacons affirm the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms. The EPC is committed to unity in essentials, liberty in non-essentials, and charity in all things.

Questions? Ask freely.

Theology can feel abstract, and these things are better talked through than listed. If you have questions about what we believe, we'd love to sit down over coffee — or walk through them in our new members class.
