Important announcement regarding She Has A Name
Hope Presbyterian Church adopted the Thrivers spiritual support group following the closing of She Has A Name—a longtime Central Ohio nonprofit serving individuals impacted by human trafficking.
After years of education, advocacy, and direct support, She Has A Name announced that it will conclude its services on June 30, 2026. Their work has profoundly shaped the conversation around human trafficking in our city and has provided hope, dignity, and care to many people. Their leadership and advocacy will be deeply missed throughout our community.
Hope Presbyterian Church has partnered with She Has A Name since 2017, when members of our church first began volunteering in Bible studies hosted by the organization.
Over the years, our volunteers have also prepared meals and served as leaders for the monthly Thrivers spiritual support group, building special relationships with the women who participate.
As part of She Has A Name’s transition plan, Hope has been entrusted with continuing the Thrivers group.
The group will continue to gather one Monday each month for a shared meal, fellowship, Bible study, and prayer. In addition, Hope will continue the annual overnight retreat and special quarterly events that have become meaningful traditions within the group. These gatherings—which have included dinners together, movie outings, pedicures, and participation in local 5K races—create opportunities for connection, celebration, and encouragement alongside ongoing spiritual support.
We recognize that no single church or organization can replace the impact of She Has A Name. We see this as an opportunity to faithfully continue one important expression of their ministry while honoring the foundation they have built. We’re thankful for Freedom a la Cart, Gracehaven, and Chroma Church for adopting their other programs.
As a church, our mission is to extend the welcome of Jesus. We believe that includes creating spaces where people are known, supported, and reminded of God’s steadfast love. We look forward to continuing to walk alongside the women of Thrivers as this next chapter begins.
We invite our Hope family to join us in praying for everyone affected by this transition. If you have capacity to provide a meal for the Thrivers group, you can sign up here (opens in new window). If you’d like to volunteer to support the Thrivers group throughout the year, sign up to serve here (opens in new window).
Though one chapter is ending, we are thankful that many parts of their legacy—including Thrivers—will continue through trusted partners across Central Ohio.
