WELCOME TO HOPE
It is our mission to extend the welcome of Jesus, and we hope that is what you experience. We also think it might be helpful to share a few things about this booklet you are holding.
It contains a liturgy.
A liturgy is a handcrafted order of worship. Like an artisan, we aim to collect all the varied pieces of gathered worship, and then place them together in the most beautiful and purposeful way possible: a way that honors you as a participant who engages with God and not a mere consumer, and a way that is relevant to our cultural moment but honors the historic and global church.
It is beautiful.
Members of hope create the cover art, the leaders of hope craft the content, and our connect card is a way to initiate relationship, the most beautiful part of hope.

CALL TO WORSHIP
Based on Matthew 25:31-46
LEADER
God gathers us into a community where the hungry are fed, the thirsty are given water, and the stranger is embraced.
ALL
He calls us to love as Jesus loves: welcoming the outsider, clothing the naked, caring for the sick.
LEADER
Jesus models perfect justice and perfect righteousness, as perfect justice is not present without perfect righteousness, nor perfect righteousness without perfect justice. And in imitating his example in our love for others, we extend the same love to him.
ALL
Reveal yourself in the vulnerable, the forgotten, and the least of these, Lord Jesus. Open our eyes to see you in the faces of strangers.

When the Son of Man comes in his glory, he will say, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” and “Whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.” Trusting in his mercy, let us confess our failure to love.

Merciful Savior, we confess that we have closed our eyes to your presence in our midst. You have come hungry, and we did not feed you. You have come thirsty, and we gave you no drink. You have come as a stranger, and we turned you away. You have come needing clothes, and we hoarded our goods. You have come sick and we did not look after you. You have come imprisoned, and we deemed you too inconvenient to visit. Forgive us, Lord, for our selective sight and hard hearts. Heal us of our selfish apathy and teach us your compassion.

Students in 6th through 12th grade are invited to join Hope Youth this fall for Alpha Youth, where students to talk about life and meaning in a simple and authentic way. Each session is designed to encourage questions and debate and in a friendly, honest, and relaxed atmosphere, and friends are always invited!
