Jesus' Primary Concern

Have you ever been in an overwhelming crowd? It's electric but also frightening. In the midst of a crowd like this, Jesus focuses on his disciples. Eugene Peterson paraphrases 12:1 his way: "By this time the crowd, unwieldy and stepping on each other’s toes, numbered into the thousands. But Jesus’ primary concern was his disciples" (Peterson, E. H. The Message). Jesus is so very committed to those who are committed to him. This a grace worth exploring.
